# Getting started

#### Add your Domain name

* Go to **Domain names** → **Create domain name**
* Enter an easy to remember and recognize name for the domain in the first text field.
* Enter the domain whose expiry & SSL we need to monitor
* Click **Create** to save the domain name or Click on **Advanced settings**.
* If you save the domain name, it will show the details of the domain such as Registered date, Updated date, domain expiry date, domain registrar and SSL expiry dates.

#### Domain name expiration notifications

You can select different notification handlers (Integrations) and choose **When to get notified** to select how long before the **domain expiry** that these alert reminders should be sent.

**SSL expiration notifications**

You can select different notification handlers (Integrations) and choose **When to get notified** to select how long before the **SSL certificate** **expiry** that these alert reminders should be sent.

#### Projects

You can tag this monitor to a Project. Projects are an easiest way to categorize, tag and filter your different monitors, heartbeats, domains and statupages.

It will be empty by default, you need to create a new project and come back here to configure it.
